Domenica Dalla-Vecchia
Limited License Master of Social Work
Dom practices as a Limited License Master of Social Work (LLMSW) and specializes in working with children and adolescents.
Dom works to create a collaborative, strengths-based space for her clients. She practices from a trauma informed lens and strives to empower every client to write the narrative of their healing journey. Dom’s focus is on providing care that sets up short term improvements that lead to long-term healing. She has experience working with children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, low self-esteem, and trauma. Additionally, Dom is an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist.
Dom received her Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan School of Social Work and completed her Bachelor of Social Work at Eastern Michigan University. She has additional training in play therapy and animal assisted therapy.
In her spare time, Dom enjoys reading, spending time with her friends and family, and giving an excessive amount of cuddles to her dogs, Addie and Pip.
Dom is supervised by Emily Thomas, LMSW.
She is a licensed clinical social work and has a master’s degree in social work from Wayne State University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wayne State. She has experience working with all ages and many backgrounds with various diagnoses. She has worked with individuals, groups, couples, and families for many years. She has continued to gain knowledge through seminars and lectures and is always willing to learn new techniques. She believes that the mental health field is forever growing and changing and new knowledge and research is always a good thing.
Emily’s goals are to continue to incorporate new research and techniques into practice. She is a strong believer that everyone is an individual and not all techniques work for every person and believes in a person-centered practice where we can work through a whole person perspective. She believes strongly in the power of communication and helping families and couples as well as individuals improve their communication skills. Emily wants to help others to reach their personal goals and to succeed in whatever that individual wants to succeed in.
In her personal time, she enjoys spending time with her family. She has three wonderful kids, a husband, and a house full of pets! She loves to take adventures and to be together. One of her professional passions includes supervising new social workers in their pursuit of their full licensure while helping others and teaching them to provide best practices to their clients. Emily loves growing this field, talking about it, and seeing others succeeding in their passions as well.
